Glenmore residents no longer need to separate recyclables!!
Residents can safely dispose of all trash in the regular trash can, with the confidence that it will be properly separated and recyclable materials recaptured. The garbage from Glenmore residents will no longer be dumped into the landfill. Dixon Trash Disposal will no longer send a separate truck to pick up bags for recycling, and there will be no increase in their fees to Glenmore residents.
Thanks to a new relationship with Van der Linde Recycling, Dixon Trash Disposal has now added a service for trash removal that will help reduce their customers’ impact on the environment by allowing more than 90% of their garbage to be recycled. The service is called Single Stream Recycling (also known as “fully commingled”). This refers to a system in which all paper fibers and containers are mixed together in a collection truck, instead of being sorted into separate commodities by the resident and handled separately throughout the collection process. In single stream, both the collection and processing systems are designed to handle this fully commingled mixture of recyclables. Residential single-stream programs have greatly increased the recycling rates, recovering as much as three times the amount of recyclable materials. Van der Linde’s Monster Green Machine can process 100 tons of trash per hour, and recycle over 90% of it.
“We are excited to be able to provide this earth-friendly service to our clients,” stated Michael Dixon, owner of Dixon Disposal. “We’re very pleased to be one of the few disposal companies in the area to offer single stream recycling, making it efficient and easy for our customers to reduce their impact on the environment.”
